A starving feral cat colony with a haunted past is offered a second chance when two magic-wielding strangers arrive at their canyon, with a promise of deliverance. Enthralled by the story of the distant land the two say they come from, Cassican, their leader, embarks on a perilous journey to secure that idyllic life for her followers.

But the violence of their past follows her.

A dormant beast inside of her awakens, and her lycanthropic transformations threaten everything they have left – and the future they fight for. All the while, she fights to stave off the feeling that she is leading them to their deaths after all, desperate not to become the monster that ripped apart her colony long ago: Murine. As she battles the brutality of nature and harsh terms of survival along her colony's exodus, one question rings ominously in Cassican's mind:
